...always stirs up thoughts about how we feel and what we think of such events. I hope they'll be happy, I don't know why people need a piece of paper to legitimize their feelings, I'm apprehensive that someone will ask when I plan to do it.... I was raised Catholic, my grandmother made wedding cakes for several years, I have no idea just how many weddings I attended while growing up... the details and the variety of traditions all blur together... my best wedding memory is of my grandma remarrying, my 4'10" grey haired 60+ grandma smiling like a school girl, I swear sometimes I think she has more energy then I do... I also like the memory of a wedding for someone I didn't know, I went as my roommates date, she worked with the groom, anyway it was a very simple ceremony with a pot luck reception afterwards, it felt very much like a community/family celebration, I really liked that one... I guess I've seen so many weddings that seem plastic and unreal, lacking any meaning, that I'm afraid they'll all be like that... I give a sigh of relief when I see something real that isn't covered in expensive meaningless plastic tradition.
